I always dreamed of the great Northwest as a place where I could lie my head down in a bed of pine needles and call it home. And here she comes from around the world in a boat as big as mine with sails cut from the same cloth as from which I cut mine. There’s no space for saying I don’t feel satisfied in my life. Well I can’t say what I feel for you ‘cause I’m still not quite at ease, but I’ll say as much as what I know, that I’m glad I didn’t leave. But if I’m not what you need some days, my best apologies. If you knew me then you’d see that this is the best that I can be. There’s no space for saying I don’t feel satisfied in my life. I’ve got all I was asking for all that time, and you have let me know it with the green in your eyes.

If a love is what you’re after be careful of her tides, she can pull you down and out past the drifting wood till you’re just a speck on the horizon, a dot in your mind, a flicker in the distance wavering in her winds. I am lost. I’m not me. I’ve been lost before, but now I’m gone. If a kiss is what you’re after don’t expect it to be much, this is Wednesday and that was Tuesday, and so much has changed.
