We recorded these songs in a house in semi-rural Warren, NJ we lived in during the summer of 2009. Most recording was done live, so these are mostly embellished versions of actual performances. The basic tracks of Carry Me Away, If You Come Back, and Overseas were done completely live, with vocals and sparing overdubs done later. Almost all the rest (except Photo Machine and Twinkle) were started with live performances of rhythm guitar, drums, and vocals (Brian was standing outside in the backyard looking through the basement window for the purposes of sound-isolation) and built up from there. All this is worth mentioning because we think it affects how this record sounds, and thus hopefully how you hear it. Enjoy.
